Recently, a journalist on Yongchang Road in Dongsheng District saw three snow removal vehicles, converted from water trucks, slowly moving along the main road. The huge brushes at the front of the vehicles thinned the snow on the road and pushed it to the sides, followed by snow plows that promptly removed the accumulated snow. As the vehicles passed with a "swish swish swish" sound, they left behind a clean and unobstructed path.
Guo Jing from the Dongsheng District Environmental Sanitation Service Center said, "To speed up snow removal, we have retrofitted sweepers and water trucks with brushes and ice scrapers, and purchased over 30 new snow removal equipment, including snow brush trucks and ice-breaking machines, to ensure timely and effective snow removal and to guarantee the safety and smooth travel of residents."
Citizen Li Dongxu said, "On snowy days, I fear the most is slippery roads and traffic jams. Seeing the snow plows starting work early and the speed at which they clear snow is really impressive; the efficiency is indeed high."
Amidst the rustling sound of brushes against the ground, an orange and white snow and ice removal integrated vehicle slowly approached. The reporter learned that the brushes at the front of the vehicle can clear snow, the steel rollers in the middle and back can break up icy areas on the road, and the snow plows and brushes at the rear can uniformly push the crushed ice to the right side of the road.
In addition to the updated snow removal equipment for motorized roads, the snow removal operations on auxiliary roads and sidewalks have also welcomed new equipment. At the Dongsheng District Environmental Sanitation Service Center, staff demonstrated the flexibility of a black and white mobile skid-steer vehicle, which the reporter saw could easily switch between auxiliary roads and sidewalks.
